Data we process and why

  • Contact enquiries (info@thinktank-group.com, phone): name, contact details and content of your message, to answer you (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR).
  • Applications (jobs@thinktank-group.com): CV and application documents, to assess your profile and – only with your consent – present it to clients for suitable positions (Art. 6(1)(a) and (b) GDPR; § 26 BDSG where applicable).
  • Clients and business partners: contract and payment data to deliver our services and meet accounting and tax duties (Art. 6(1)(b) and (c) GDPR).

Hosting, server log files and e-mail

Website hosting: This website is hosted by GreenGeeks LLC, USA (shared web hosting). The host processes access data (page/file requested, date and time, amount of data, browser and OS, referrer URL, IP address) on our behalf to deliver the site securely (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR). As the host is located in the USA, data is transferred to a third country; this is based on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR) and, where the provider is certified, the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (Art. 45 GDPR). Log files are deleted after at most 7 days unless needed to investigate an incident.

E-mail: Our e-mail communication (info@, jobs@, oscar.jager@) does not run via the web host but via Microsoft (Microsoft 365 / Exchange Online) with data storage in the EU, under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR).

Cookies

Proof of consent: Your choice is stored in a technically necessary cookie (cmplz_*) in your browser (lifetime 365 days). To document consent (Art. 7(1) GDPR) we also store the version of the cookie banner in force with date (proof of consent); no personal data is stored. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(c) in conjunction with Art. 7(1) GDPR.

This website uses cookies. Technically necessary cookies (e.g. to store your cookie choice or for logged-in site administration) are set on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR and § 25(2) TTDSG/TDDDG. All other cookies and similar technologies (e.g. statistics/analytics such as Google Analytics, if enabled) are only set after you have given your consent via our cookie banner (consent management plugin “BST DSGVO Cookie”), Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TTDSG/TDDDG.

You can withdraw or change your consent at any time with effect for the future via the cookie settings. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings; blocking all cookies may limit some functions of the website.

Fonts

The fonts used on this website are hosted locally on our own server. No connection to Google Fonts or other font servers is made when you visit the site.

Map links

Location links on vacancies open Google Maps in a new tab. Data is only sent to Google if you click such a link.

Recipients and third countries

We disclose data only where legally permitted, e.g. to our hosting provider (GreenGeeks, USA), our e-mail provider (Microsoft, EU data storage), tax advisors or – with your consent – to clients for applications. Transfers outside the EU/EEA only take place under Art. 44 ff. GDPR (see “Hosting”).

Retention

We delete personal data once it is no longer needed for its purpose, unless statutory retention obligations apply: commercial and business letters 6 years (§ 257 HGB, § 147 AO); books, annual accounts and inventories 10 years (§ 257 HGB, § 147 AO); accounting vouchers (Buchungsbelege) 8 years for vouchers whose retention period had not expired on 1 January 2025 (Bürokratieentlastungsgesetz IV). Applicant data is deleted about 6 months after the application process has ended (cf. § 15(4) AGG, § 61b ArbGG), unless you have consented to longer storage for future positions.

Provision of data / automated decision-making

You are not legally or contractually obliged to provide personal data. Without contact details we cannot answer your enquiry, and without application documents we cannot consider your application (Art. 13(2)(e) GDPR). We do not use automated decision-making, including profiling, within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR (Art. 13(2)(f) GDPR).

Your rights

You have the right to access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20 GDPR). You may withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR) and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR), e.g. the Hessian Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (HBDI).

Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR)

Where we process your data on the basis of legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), you have the right to object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation. We will then no longer process the data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims. If we process data for direct marketing, you may object at any time without giving reasons. Simply send an informal message to info@thinktank-group.com.
